YSMU is a Government University functioning under the Ministry of Education and Science as a state non-commercial body. The University is enlisted in the Directory of Higher Medical Institutions adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the degree awarded is globally accepted. YSMU is recognized by the Medical Council of India, Act of 1956 (Gazette of India, Part II, S.1, Extra, S. No. 83, dt. 31.12.1956). The Yerevan State Medical University is recognized worldwide. Both native and foreign, successfully work and have gained global acknowledgment due to their knowledge, practical skills and experience. Students from more than 40 countries are at the advantage to complete their graduation from this University. The University in it’s over ninety eight years of existence has trained more than 30,000 doctors who are practicing all over the world. Yerevan State Medical University recognized by the Medical Board of California, USA. In California more than 500 YSMU graduates are successfully practicing. Currently over 1800 International Students are attaining medical education in undergraduate courses from around 30 countries. Over 1000 Indian students are pursuing their graduate and post-graduate studies here. According to the “Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2001” Indian medical graduate has to qualify the FMGE ‘Screening Test’ securing 50% marks or more (MCQ’s with no negative marking). The FMGE ‘Screening Test’ conducted by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. Indian students study in YSMU since 1987 batch and are excelling in the field in Medicine.
